CAPE ALOE

Aloe is a native plant of Africa that has been traditionally used as a topical preparation for burns and wounds. The thick mucilaginous juice found inside the leaves is thought to have a cooling, soothing effect on the skin. The aloe juice when taken internally is thought to play important roles in supporting the gastrointestinal system and proper bowel regularity and maintenance. However, Cape aloe contains latex from the inner lining of the leaves, which has stimulatory effects on the bowel.
